about

Some days, when you’re shy of a necessary ingredient, or you’re not ready to tackle the big, complicated feast you’ve planned, you open up the cupboards and dig deep. You push aside nearly expired cans of corn, that protein powder from when you were going to start drinking shakes every morning, and the chicken corn tortilla soup you thought you were going to love so much you bought 8 cans of it, only to realize halfway through serving one that you won’t be eating this ever again.

As you make your way through the shelves, a plan begins to develop. This rice goes really nice with that seasoning, and these black beans and homegrown mason jarred tomatoes might make a good pair. Add some of the fried onions hidden in the back and use some of the biscuit mix stashed up top. Maybe this is a reason to cook that chicken that’s got about two days before you make it so the hen has died in vain. Maybe you might actually be able to use that corn after all. Eventually, the random assortment of ingredients copped independent of each other come together to create a warm, nourishing meal.

The same thing happens while making music.

While looking through external hard drives, folders hidden within folders hidden in other desktop folders, old emails from friends I ain’t hollered at in a minute, and brand new project files that didn’t have a home yet, I realized I might have something akin to a pantry meal. Something where each individual part was created without the other parts in mind, but together, form something warm and nourishing.

These are previously unreleased songs and/or features recorded over the last decade that were scattered throughout the different corners of the internet, and I was able to reconnect with some old friends and meet some new ones to compile them into what, to me, sounds like a cohesive album, even if that never was the original intention.

So that’s what this is, an album for my family.
Made from what I found while I was browsing through the pantry.

Enjoy.

Love,
Claud Six

The individual credits for each song are listed in each song's individual notes.

I got too much love for the producers to not include their names in the title of the songs (this is probably the first album I've ever been a part of where there's been more than 2 different producers).

The homey Wesley Opus took all the different songs that were at different levels and made them sound good together.

I did most of the recording at the crib, and I took the photo and designed the cover art.
